Nora Asplin is subject co-ordinator of Selmer's ESG and Compliance team. Nora is part of Selmer's energy department. She has over several years specialized in corporate sustainability responsibility. She has also gained solid experience in advising businesses on strategy development and change processes.
As part of Selmer's ESG and Compliance team, Nora advises a number of Norwegian and international companies that are at the forefront of the energy transition in within the disciplines of ESG and compliance. Nora has in-depth insight into the existing and emerging ESG framework, specializing in the Norwegian Transparency Act and the EU Sustainable Finance Action Plan. Nora regularly lectures on the legal regulation of sustainability.
In addition, Nora assists with commercial contracts, transactions and company law issues for the energy sector. She has particularly gained experience related to advising private associations and foundations. Nora has gained extensive experience with project management and advisory services for foundations, especially in the areas of transactions, contracts, public law matters and the establishment of governance models.
Nora also has good insight into the seafood industry, especially related to responsible business conduct and sustainability. Nora studied law at the University of Oslo and wrote her 60-point master's thesis as a research assistant at the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law. Her master's thesis dealt with private regulation of sustainability in the aquaculture sector and gave her broad insight into the development of sustainability regulations in the private sector, natural resource-related issues and the relationship between private and public drivers for increased safeguarding of the environment and climate.
