Elvar Idarsson

Elvar Idarsson is part of Selmer’s dispute resolution team, where he works with dispute management across the firm’s practice areas. He has experience advising on potential disputes, participating in judicial mediation, and handling court proceedings in cases of significant scope across a broad range of legal areas, including damages claims arising from share purchase agreements and supplier contracts. Elvar is also affiliated with Selmer’s energy department, where he works with contract negotiations in the offshore and supplier industries, particularly within EPCI projects, subcontractor agreements, rig contracts and charter parties. He has also assisted in several transactions for companies in the oil and gas sector. Elvar holds a degree in petroleum engineering and has practical offshore experience from a number of installations on the Norwegian continental shelf. This background has given him a unique understanding of the technical and operational challenges in offshore projects and strengthened his ability to handle the legal aspects of contracts and negotiations in this industry.
