Nicholas Foss Barbantonis

Nicholas Foss Barbantonis is part of our technology team and specialises in technology-related issues. He heads our IP and marketing law team. He has been involved in several high-profile cases at the intersection of technology and intellectual property law. He has passed his first trial before the Supreme Court, which concerned the assessment of compensation for trademark infringement. With a deep understanding of intellectual property law, technology law and commercial company law, he assists Norwegian and international clients in an increasingly competitive market. Nicholas holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Oslo, as well as a Master of Laws (LL.M.) and a Doctor of Jurisprudence (S.J.D.) from the United States, where he wrote about international enforcement of intellectual property rights, among other topics. He is ranked in Chambers and Rising Star in Legal 500, where clients describe him as "extremely commercial", "efficient" and providing "pragmatic advice". Nicholas has also been ranked as a promising talent for the third year in a row in Finansavisen's lawyer survey. He was also named a Rising Star in the IP Stars global survey.
