Marianne Løvås Sagerup practices within private M&A and corporate law. As an M&A lawyer, Marianne has led many large transaction processes over the years both in Norway and internationally, on behalf of funds and other capital market investors as well as industry players. Marianne works across industries, but with an emphasis in tech, the energy sector, as well as capital market investments such as fund-of-fund investments. Marianne holds an Executive MBA in Corporate Finance from the Norwegian School of Economics, and regularly advises on aspects concerning corporate finance and governance on behalf of boards, companies and shareholders. In addition to being a lawyer, Marianne is a certified financial analyst (CEFA). As a financial analyst, Marianne has in-depth knowledge of various financial subjects such as valuation, accounting, asset and portfolio management and macroeconomics, and she thus provides valuable assistance also on aspects in the interface between legal, financial and commercial matters involving companies and investors.
Marianne holds experience as a board director, and is co-founder of Styrelisten AS, which strives to increase the visibility of qualified female board directors. Since its establishment in 2017, the company has built a database comprising more than 550 board candidates, used to match candidates with companies seeking qualified female board directors outside the company's own network.
Marianne holds several years of experience as an external examiner at the Faculty of Law, Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø.
