Preben Helverschou

Preben Helverschou acts for clients within the shipping and offshore industry and assists in contract negotiations, sale & purchase of ships and dispute resolution both in Norway and abroad. Preben has extensive experience in drafting and negotiation of a number of different shipping and offshore contracts, such as charter parties, shipbuilding contracts, management agreements and other service agreements. He has developed an expertise on commercial and contractual issues within traditional shipping, aquaculture, and offshore, in particular within the support, construction and subsea vessel segments. Further, Preben has considerable experience with marine and other types of industry insurance. He regularly assists Norwegian and international insurers with cover disputes, direct action claims and marine casualties. Preben also has significant experience with litigation, in particular related to ship arrests and asset securing. In addition, Preben has solid experience with sale and purchase of ships, sale leaseback and other similar transactions. He also has significant experience with sanctions, in particular with issues related to shipping, insurance and the maritime industries in general.
